The John Jay College Justice e-Reader brings together a collection of key texts on the topic of justice, broadly defined, that functions as an intellectual hub for conversations about justice among undergraduate students and their teachers at the college. By drawing texts from a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of study, it serves as a resource for John Jay faculty searching for classroom reading materials, as well as for those seeking to broaden their disciplinary expertise. By using material that can be accessed by our students without cost – including openly licensed and library licensed materials – it serves the college’s commitment to making education accessible “to traditionally underrepresented groups.”
The Justice eReader consists of three parts: Part 1: Texts for Teaching and Learning about Justice. These submissions are the key texts; Part 2: Subjects and Topics in Justice; and Part 3: Resources for Teaching. The submissions in Part 1 and Part 2 are categorized by the time period (chronological) and by the global region of the work creation. In addition, all readings have been assigned tags for locating specific subjects, like Africana Studies, Latinx Studies, Activism, etc.
